Yest it will work, but your RAM will run in single channel mode. Might want to get another 8GB stick later on so your RAM runs in dual channel mode.

Hows the difference?

 

Theoretically dual channel should give you 2X the speed of single channel, but in reality the most max difference you will see in games and other programs is 10-20%. Sometimes there is no difference at all.
