That's what I am looking for.

I don't need a macbook because:

  • I don't like OSX
  • It's expensive

What I do need:

  • windows
  • 13"-15" IPS
  • HD or FullHD
  • good build quality
  • good connectivity/ports
  • good keyboard
  • the ability to change the HDD/SSD unless it already has an SSD build in
  • being able to upgrade ram would be nice, but not necessary

I don't really care about cpu/gpu as long as office and chrome work fine.

Thanks a lot!

way to expensive. making compromises is fine to me.

It's like $700, compares to $1300 Macbooks.

Try a Chromebook or the HP Stream?

thats to cheap :P

i can buy used and then the difference between the macbook and the asus isnt as big anymore.

hp stream sadly isnt available in grey in germany.

and i need windows.

Old Macbook and Bootcamp it....?

then i am paying extra for osx and not using it, feels like a waste to me.

Have you considered buying a used Thinkpad? They have a great keyboard, lots of ports, a good build quality, are available in 14"-15" and are upgradeable.

i'll look into that, thanks!

What's your budget? I would recommend the Dell XPS 13 but it's $800 and you said no to $700.

CPU: AMD FX-6300 4GHz @ 1.3 volts | CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO | RAM: 8GB DDR3

Motherboard: Gigabyte 970A-DS3P | GPU: EVGA GTX 960 SSC | SSD: 250GB Samsung 850 EVO

HDD: 1TB WD Caviar Green | Case: Fractal Design Core 2500 | OS: Windows 10 Home

I'm in the states, so pricing is a bit different here. The base model of the XPS 13 is 800 USD.

I would look for something used.

Oh ok. Well, I can give you some brand recommendations for starters.

Dell, ASUS, Lenovo, Samsung, and Apple are good brands.

I would stay away from Acer, Toshiba, and HP.
