Hi, I have been wanting to get back into Minecraft because of a friend of mine, but it takes a while to load the terrain when i join a server and if I get in it freezes and then i get kicked for timing out.

Does anyone have any tips or tricks they can throw my way?

Cheers

I haven't minecrafted in years, but when I did on my old i7 950 and 280M (yes, 280M) I never had any such issues... and that was without optifine's multicore benefits, and using a pretty heavy-on-the-vRAM texture pack. My settings were turned all the way up too. Your 4.2GHz 8320 shouldn't be so radically different in single-thread mode than my old CPU at 3GHz either.

Have you been able to load in without lagging in single player, large worlds? Have you tried multiple other servers? And what is your GPU?

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.

THE INFORMATION GUIDES: SLI INFORMATION || vRAM INFORMATION || MOBILE i7 CPU INFORMATION || Maybe more someday
