ok so i just bought garrys mod and loading to get on a server takes ages then when i almost get on one it said that i was missing a map help

Download the map manually from garrysmod.org an place it in the maps folder. The reason you took a while aswell is DarkRP servers most of the time have lots of custom content and you would have had to download it all with the servers not-so-fast download system.

Do you know you need Counter strike source to play DarkRP properly.

Otherwise you get purple textures and that means you are missing those textures from cs:source

If you go to http://cscheater.era.ee/  you can download game content(which is 1gb) and maps (about 70mb) and put them into Steam/ steamapps/common/GarrysMod/garrysmod/addons and put them in that folder.
