EVGA g2 750watts is perfect for the build (for potential SLI)

Yes you just need to remove the hard drive cages for it to fit

a 970 will fit barley in either the h440, you'd have to take out the drive bays in the way. and since you're running a single gpu setup, any 550 watt will do

What is the purpose of your build?  Gaming?  Gaming and editing/rendering?  I see a few improvements that can be made to get you better components without spending more money.

Yes. You just need to remove the hard drive cages (since you only have 1 hard drive it will not affect you much)

I am going to recommend that you start with 8GB of RAM to start, and later upgrade to 16GB.  This way you will have enough money to afford an SSD, which is a must-have in 2015.  Nothing gives you that "new computer, money well spent" feeling like an SSD.  Install your OS and frequently used programs on the SSD, everything else on the HDD. It is a lot easier to add more RAM to a system than have to switch over crucial files from a HDD to an SSD.  Start with the SSD, and add more RAM later.

I am also going to recommend a different chassis.  Phanteks Enthoo Pro.  A lot more case for your money, and no airflow problems that creep up on the H440.

The PSU I selected is a good one, and will give you plenty of power.

Also, you need an aftermarket CPU cooler.  The i7-4790k is a hot processor, and the stock cooler is really a mismatch for this hot of a chip.  The 212 EVO is a minimum.

I've worked with a windforce cooler in that case but the G1 is bigger (I have the same card) it will work in an h440 with the bays removed. idk about the s340.
