internet problems

So I am having internet issues.It was working this morning this morning but now one i turned my pc back on it has limited access .
I have tested the cord and pluggin it into another pc works. The switch it is on also has another pc that currently has internet still.
When i run the diagnostic it says it could not detect proxy settings.

The system is:
asrock 970 extreme 3
8gb ram
Fx 6100
Radeon hd 7950
750w psu
Windows 8 64 bit

Hi Maglue,

 

From the info you have there, It shows that you have not gotten an IP from your router. That is an IP that Windows gives to the computer when it can not find a DHCP server or router to give an IP. 

What is the IP of your Router?

The ip of the router is 192.168.0.1

Try this, Disable ipv6 on the nic and set a static IPv4. From that image you don't have an IPv4 address or a gateway.

 

it will look something like this 

 

Address:192.16.0.99

Subnet:255.255.255.0

GATEWAY:192.16.0.1

DNS:8.8.8.8

DNS2:8.8.4.4

By the way i did fix it. It seems i had lost windows files, so i just did a refresh of windows with a usb and it worked.
