So you think i can actually move my current card to the top spot which will msotleikyl be touching the cooler and still be fine?

 

I can also confirm that the fan has a 0 RPM profile which does explain why iot gets so hot.

 

No put it in that second red slot.  

 

I didn't see the slot that is practically under the cooler.  Definitely don't use that one.

That's going to mean that I will not be able to run both cards in 16x, not sure how much performance loss and this feels quite allot like i should have looked at this prior to choosing the motherboard. The x99 deluxe probb would have been better.

x8 PCi-E is faster than 16x PCi-E 2.0, so it'll fall within the two.

That sounds good enough, im trying to be a little futureproff, not looking at changing anything else than the GPUs the coming year.
