so i have this really annoying problem. i have sapphire r9 290x vapor-x, and when i try to install amd drivers it goes to black screen, pc freezes and i have to restart. i don't know what's the problem, i mean it works without the driver, i'm writing this now on the pc without the driver. but of course i can't do anything else. can you help me? i can't RMA the card.

Try an f disk. Maybe they are driver conflictions. I had problems until I just nuked the computer and started over, runs like a champ now. Hell I got two 290's

try uninstalling all gpu related drivers and programs, and finish of running this

Then do a fresh non beta driver install.

 

I was recommended ddu when i had driver problems, and it Work. had to use a old driver though when i reinstalled.

thank you, but i've already done all of these things. ddu in safe mode, i reinstalled windows... i'll just sell the card.
