So a friend of mine want's to get into PC gaming (yay) sadly he only had a few hundred dollars so he sold his console and came up to around $550 so now I'm trying to help him get a nice rig for some gaming (Single monitor 1080p, No OS required) right now we came up to a rig that's a little out of his budget http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1frwc so if you guys could help us out and get a better system that would be awesome.

change the 650ti to 7850

The 1gb or 2gb version? also on Linus benchmarks it says the 650 ti boost is better than the 7850.

2 gig if he can afford it,

I see you changed the WD black to a seagate barracuda, isn't the WD black faster and more reliable?

For sure the WD is faster. But pros use Seagate too and so will you if you want to stay inside the budget.

 

 

if you can, find an old Hdd from a scrap pc or broken xbox/ps3. That'll save monies for a more powerful video card and your friend still get some mean time storage.

This build is solid.

 

I see you changed the WD black to a seagate barracuda, isn't the WD black faster and more reliable?

The WD Black is but it is also more expensive. It'd be better to save the money for a future ssd upgrade.
