I just had the best idea yet, turn my old hp p7-1235 into a budget gaming rig for $150. Here's the plan buy a 750ti and put in in there. What are your thoughts?

Do it! $150 for a gaming rig is cheap!  Worst case scenario, the thing bottlenecks your new GPU slightly.

Do it! $150 for a gaming rig is cheap!  Worst case scenario, the thing bottlenecks your new GPU slightly.  

what do you think the resale value would be? i want to buy a 16gb kit of ram for my main pc or maybe another 970 idk

or maybe a cuadro card for an extra boost in rendering

Hard to say.  My guess is between $300 and $400.  is monitor included?

i have the acer 900p monitor witch i bought with it but i use right now for editing but i can live without it

Should be able to get $400 with monitor.  look around local classified ads to see what others are selling in that price range.
