hey guys. i've been asking many ppl about low resolution = cpu bottlenecking = low fps? .. alot of ppl said no the cpu is doing the same work at any resolution but the case is that ur gpu load increase by increase ur resolution because it has to do more of the work to translate the more pixels but it gives u a similiar fps to ur lower resolution and many lower fps.. and on the other hand some ppl said YE THE CPU DOES BOTTLENECK UR GPU ON LOWER RESOLUTION BUY 1080p MONITOR HAHAHAHAHA !! .. -.-  well , so which one is right? + explain it maybe it will be much better with a provided videos..

also if it does bottleneck so it will be like r9 285 + fx 6300 running on 1366x768 playing nosgoth on 40~52fps ? .. while others using r9 270x + core i5/i7/fx-8/fx-9 getting 70fps ++ ? ..i know there's another topic there by me but here i wanna discuss the low resolution thingy..ty

if the cpu is a bottleneck that doesn't mean that it's lowering the framerate, it just means that it's holding it back

in any system there is always a bottleneck, and in games it's usually the gpu. if you play at lower resolutions the gpu doesn't have much to do, so the next bottleneck in the system is the cpu

Run a benchmark and monitor system resources. usually that will show something to help you see where the bottleneck is, whether it be CPU, GPU, RAM, VRAM, etc. The bottleneck may not be because of resolution at all, but rather a lack of processing power, cache, memory...When you find it, most likely you'll see it.

usually running futuremark and sadly it doesnt use cpu as much as gamming like 0% .. lol and the results was 100% gpu load .. but its like testing the card itself not the bottlenecks in the system since i doesnt affect the cpu while benchmarking.

Why don't you try playing a game while watching the system. I'm not a gamer myself, I'm more IT, servers, and budget stuff, but I think you can understand what I'm trying to get across. Monitor the system under the load that it is choking under, and see where its f***ing up.

probably the gpu usage/load , but since i play on 1366x768p monitor the gpu will use kinda low usage not as a bottleneck but u can call it there's no need for 100% load on this resolution since the gpu is high-end.. so i cant judge its bottlenecking or not.. but ye i get fps drops and low fps in game, but while looking at a wall in game or an empty place without other players .. i get my fps raise from 40fps to 120+ FPS ! so i think its the cpu cant feed the gpu to caluclate the other players details and the other maps so once i get involved into a match my fps drops to 33~52fps .am i right ?

Like I said, check out the CPU utilization in a game (i.e. have taskman open to the performance tab, get into a game for a while, and see what happens). It could also be a cooling issue, if it's throttling itll slow down and create a bottleneck. Again, with something like this you can't just jump to conclusions.

around 40% but since fx-6300 doesnt use the whole cores then i wont believe that usage and my whole temps are ok .. GPU >> 72C UNDER LOAD and 77C on futuremark 1.5 under huge LOAD ! and  59~68C average .. cpu : 35~45C mobo : 40~47C sometimes hits 50 , psu : 40~47C

a cpu bottleneck will still cause lower fps because the game isn't physically being loaded fast enough by the processor.
