Hello!

I'm quite new to the fan section :P But I was wondering if someone could help me to choose fans.

I see the Noctua has the different words in their products "NF-A" for example.

I see they have "NF-F" and "NF-S" too. What's the difference? I tried finding it but can't seem to find too much about it.

I'm more into the performance over looks and noise. So to me, it doesn't matter if it makes a lot of noises or looks horrible.

I just want it to be the most effective over it looking cool.

I got the NZXT S340 case, with 2x 140mm fans in the front, 1x 140mm fan at the top and 1x 120mm in the back.

I also have the Noctua NH-D14 CPU cooler, but guess these fans doesn't really need replacing due to the already good cooling? But I don't mind changing these if you have a better suggestion.

Pricing, noise and looks does not matter. Although it would always be nice having more silent fans if the performance is not that much greater than a more silent one.

Tips is more than welcome :)

NF-F = Focused Flow
NF-A = Air Flow (Case fan)
NF-S = Silence (Aimed at nothing but silence)
NF-P = Pressure
NF-R = Raised blade

NF-B = Beveled blade

NF-A14's and NF-S12A's would be optimal.

Short and simple. Yet perfect :P

That's exactely what i like:)

but what would give me the best performance?

The easiest to get for me would be the "Noctua NF-A14 IPPC-2000 PWM 140mm Fan"

Would this give me close to the best airflow? 3x 140mm and 1x NF-F IPPC-3000120mm?

I know it's hard to say. but would those industrial fans be a "killer of the heat"? :P

Or is there a more efficient "bang for the buck"?

Just a tip, leave the top unocupyed.

Will allow for better air flow

Not even a dust filter?

It comes just pure chill air out the top and decently hot out the back. So I guess you're right :P

But when it comes to the fans? Do you suggest the Noctua Industrial ones?

They will be rather loud at full speed

I just want the best airflow to keep my stuff as cool as I can. Noise isn't really a problem

its not really that important to make it as low as possible. Its not going to give you better perform nor will it make your components last longer as they run within a certain range. For Intel cpus, its ok as long as you keep it under 80 degrees Celsius. For AMD cpus, keep it under 60-65. For amd and nvidia gpus, keep them under 75-80 degrees and you are good to go

Cpu:i5-4690k Gpu:r9 280x with some other things

It doesn't make that much of a difference for performance between normal and IPPC for case fans and it's not worth the noise. You might as well lose several degrees of cooling for a much quieter system.

Hehe. Guess that explains enough then.

But should I replace the stock cooler that comes with the i7? I understand that under 80 is good. But it is like 25 c hotter than the rest of my case

My cpu is at 59-65c under load

It's not abnormal for your cpu to be the warmest component in the system.
