Do I need ASIO drivers?

Go to solution Solved by paprikman,

I plan on getting a Pioneer DDJ-SX controller and I heard that there's some driver issues with getting it up and running on a Windows platform. I'm not sure if ASIO drivers work with Windows 8 or if I even need it at all. I'm sure Serato DJ provides all those right?

If u're experiencing some lags or stretches in sound, then yes. But mind, that ASIO needs some more cpu power.

Otherwise, don't bother with this.

lol, read that as something else. ASIO means something completely different in Australia.

So it just reduces the latency of my input of my controller to the DJ software? Alrighty then.

Not really: sometimes ur internal audio card cannot proceed with such amount of data and it starts 'lagging'.

But ASIO helps it, computing all stuff with cpu.

Other times u just need to raise 'hz' sound ratio in sequensor/studio/dj-mixer settings.

I've had such problems with laptops, but it's ok with any macbook.
