So, lets just start with my specs xD

Intel Core i5 4460 3.2ghz

Nvidia Geforce GTX 760 (OEM)

8Gb DDR3 Ran

Seagate 1TB 7200rpm

My GPU is a mid range and i was thinking if upgrading it, but my PSU only has 1x 6 pin connector, and im thinking of switching to a MSI Geforce 970 which uses 2x 6pin connectors. So can anyone give me any suggestions on PSU's that are good? and that meet the minimum specs required to run the MSI Geforce 970, also do only certain PSU's work with certain Motherboards or something like if theres anything i need to keep in mind when i switch PSU? Im thinking of spending around 300-400$ (USD). I have no idea what they actually cost, if i need to spend 600 im ok with that, just have to get some more cash then :P

Thanks in advance :)

300-400 on a PSU!?!?!? :o

Btw, you don't even need a new PSU, you can convert two molex into one 6-pin ;)

As i said, i have no idea what they cost :P Also how can i do that?

Should probably mention that the rig is pre-built, dont know if that makes a difference, its an Acer Predator G3-605

It matters, prebuilt ones use crappy PSUs.

I have edited my post. I suggest you do not use an adapter, just buy a new PSU.

XFX XTR 550W.

My 5820K + 970 only pulls 300W at load, you'll be fine.

But it says that the minimum PSU requirements is 500W, doesent that matter?

Thats the vendor being safe and not knowing what you have in your rig.. 450W is plenty for what you have (or any current i5 / i7 4 core rig)

I don'T PreSS caPs.. I juST Hit THe keYboARd so HarD iT CriTs :P

Can this PSU be connected to any motherboard? Also is it this one? http://www.proshop.no/Stroemforsyning-og-UPS/XFX-XTR-Series-550W-PSU-2471399.html?utm_source=prisjakt&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=pricesite(Website is in Norwegian)

Of course it can.

As for the PSU, get either the XFX XTR that you have linked or for a little more money you get more wattage and the option of a white PSU:

or in black

All 3 options i have mentioned are of very high quality and are all very quiet.
