importing apks in android studio

I want to try reverse engineering some apps, for learning purposes, and I'm not sure how i can import existing APKs into android studio to see the code.

idk if android studio is eclipse with android ide

but what i know is that usually in eclipse you can just hit file and in the bar you hit import

not sure though

I'm almost certain that you can't do that with an apk that's been downloaded from google play, as giving end users access to source code in any way is just a terrible idea.

 

I'm not sure about other apks though.
