Possible SSD upgrade?

Go to solution Solved by Stardar1,

to transfer stuff from HDD to SSD, first back up files, then install windows to SSD, then format HDD.

i recommend the Crucial MX100 512 GB for $170, or a Samsung 850 EVO thats 256 GB

Should be relatively easy, though I haven't done it before.

I'd recommend putting your OS on the SSD, along with maybe a game or two, and some programs.

Leave the majority of programs and/or games for a HDD, along most of your files.

Specs: CPU - Intel i7 8700K @ 5GHz | GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming | Motherboard - ASUS Strix Z370-G WIFI AC | RAM - XPG Gammix DDR4-3000MHz 32GB (2x16GB) | Main Drive - Samsung 850 Evo 500GB M.2 | Other Drives - 7TB/3 Drives | CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i Pro | Case - Fractal Design Define C Mini TG | Power Supply - EVGA G3 850W

i only know the 840 evo to have a slow down problem i havent seem the 850 evo have that problem yet but i personally wouldnt trust the durability of TLC

what?

There is a TLC Nand slow down issue.

Since the 850 evo is THE EXACT same drive as the 840 EVO except it is 3D stacked

the 840 was a great drive, i see no issue.

Intels Drives have a really reliable

AMD's drive have a bit of all the above

Kingston?

Your Kingston SSD is not like every other Kingston ssd.

Barely faster? Provide proof, their SSDs are pretty good for the buck.

But the slow read is only after a long period of time not using it right as per the article wrote. But I use mine daily and I realized my boot up time increases from 7 secs to now roughly 8-9 secs. Is it due to I'm using the 840 evo?

no its after a long time not accessing that file so if you dont use a file after a long time it will become slow

Next month? That fast? Oh ok. I guess it's like intel chip? All are different. My the other 4 friends using the same ssd as mine doesn't have any increase of boot time nor speed slowing down. I'm the only 1 affected by the boot up time increases. speed slowing down on files and stuff I have not encounter it ... yet ...

File like example if I put a word file in it and not accessing it for a long period of time. After that when opening the word file, it will be slow? <-- something like that you mean?

yes though it probably wont affect something like a word file that much but if you dont play a game for a long time be prepared for long loading screens the mx200 is a good buy right now
