Whatever you decide to go for, both CPUs will last you a good bit.

I'm going to be doing some editing and 3D rendering on the computer I'm building. I'm wondering what would be the best solution for this, because they're both within my budget but I want what would perform better over a long term run. 

Technology is a curse... why? Because it's so addictive.

4770K will be the most efficient, and may perform better than the 8350. Both are good options though.

Thanks I just want to make sure the computer lasts as long as it can due to not having the money to be going out and building and buying parts every year or so.

I'm going to go with the i7-4770k because it's newer and will last longer in the overall run of things.
