Hello guys,

I am looking for answers to this issue i have been having with GTA V, When playing my video driver just crashes, i am not sure why however i have a suspicion that it has something to do with these numbers that i get when playing GTA vs any other title like valley for example.

My system:

video:     EVGA 980 (stock)

CPU:      I7 4790k(stock)

Board:    Asus z97 - a

Ram:      16 gb 1600mhz

Storage: 840 evo

Both Examples:

If you look at the TDP of  my video card in GTA V vs Valley you can see that GTA my card is at a TDP of 80% and this is far to low for my card to be boosting to 1278 and be stable, where as with valley or BF4 my TDP will be in the 92% + area. Not to mention the GPU utilization is only at 95% and not locked in at 99% like most games with GTA.

Any insight into this issue, is any one else noticing any thing like this ?

Answering the second question, that's because GTA V is just less GPU demanding than most other games as most other Open World games are..

To answer your first question: Have you updated your drivers, updated GTA V or tried reinstalling drivers?

@Tim Drake yes i have done a clean install of Nvidia's 350.12 drivers to no avail. Even though its not as demanding i have v sync off, therefore my gpu should be maxed.

@Ceatra Legal.

never maxes mine out, I get around 95%+

@Wesleydn I am currently trying you setup, ill update you after i get a chance to use it for awhile

@TDP_Equinox yes i have a number of times.

@Tim Drake hmm, just seems weird, what honestly got be worried about the low tdp is i saw an unstable flash of red aka not enough power to the gpu. and it leads me to believe that my driver is crashing for that same reason.
