Can a RSC GTA V install be put onto a friends computer if he has the steam version?

In the title basically, i hate to make another gtav topic, but i was wondering if i can put my gtav install on a portable and put it ona friend who has it on steam's computer in his steam folder and have it work?

For me it didn't work but steam to steam and rc to rc works for me tho.

If you put it in the correct directory file structure, Steam should validate the files and fill in the gaps, saving a large chunk of the game from having to be downloaded.

My friend says he doesn't care so we won't know
