Hello i have a problem i dont know where to plug this http://imgur.com/Xk6NHyN on my motherboard, motherboard is asus maximus formula rev 1.03g http://www.asus.com/media/global/products/SUtOxkjNA4ODENtN/P_500.jpg i bought used one so no manual.

its my first time build so i hope someone can help me :)

that board should have a header labeled audio or HD audio

 

it will have a missing pin as the keying

i see header what is labeled ADH and pin is missing, is this right one?

yes that is the one

Hey i pluged it in, now i should install drivers right?
at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131227 
onboard audio:
Audio Chipset:ADI AD1988B 8 channels
Device manager --> sound,video and game controllers ---> amd high definition audio drivers :o

i should install ad1988b drivers to get sound right? bcs right now i dont have sound...

Sry im really noob at this :D

Your motherboard should have come with an extra card for audio, looks like this: asus_supremefx-x-fi_via.jpg

There should be a spot on the back of it for the HD Audio header to plug into. If you don't have this card, which I believe you don't as you are currently using the graphics card onboard souncard, then you'll either have to as the person who sold you the board if they have it, buy one from ebay, or buy an alternative soundcard such as http://www.amazon.com/Xonar-DGX-PCI-E-GX2-5-Engine/dp/B007TMZ1BK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1429697282&sr=8-1&keywords=Asus+Xonar+DGX+5.1

Vista drivers will work with Win 7 and 8

 

as long you use the 64bit driver
