So my friend has put together a build for himself.

His budget is $1000 AUD but can go slightly over and will be mainly used for gaming.

This doesn't include perphirals, monitors or OS

His current build plan is:

CPU: i5 4460                                                        = $259

GPU : Galax GTX 960                                          =$299

MOBO: MSI A87M-E35                                        =$75

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB                             =$75

SSD: Kingston HyperX Fury 120GB                     =$85

PSU: Corsair CX-500 V3                                     =$89

RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 2x4GB 1866hz       =$99

CASE: Deepcool Tesseract.                                =$49

FAN: CoolerMaster S12  Silent 4 pack               =$19

I can see some things that could be changed, but what changes/opinions do you guys have?

Thanks

Mate

is that a H87 board?

A is used for the AMD chipsets like A88X, A78 etc

what is the price of the R9 280X in Auzzy?

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

If your at that price range the R9 290X is on sale, much better than the GTX 960, and cheaper.

how about the R9 280?

beats playing with just 2GB of VRAM vs the 3GB on the R9 280
