I recently bought a 970 (EVGA ACX 2.0 SSC) about a week ago at first, everything was great, then it just started dying on me randomly. The fans would start squeaking REALLY loud and then windows would switch back to the basic color scheme. I didn't think much of it, the card was defective, right? So I returned it and swapped in out for the Gigabyte G1 gaming 970, again at first, it was AWESOME, but then every game just started not being able to be maxed out at 1080p, skyrim, mafia II, Fallout NV, etc. So, I've had 2 different 970's each one has failed me in some way. Do you guys think this issue is PSU related? I have a Corsair CX750M 80+ Bronze, and this is NOT a driver issue, I've run DDU already (so many times)

Specs:

Intel core i5 4690k

MSI Z97S Sli Krait Edition

Gigabyte G1 Gaming gtx 970

16gb Corsair Vengeance LP (2x8)

Corsair CX750M 80+ Bronze

WD Blue 1tb

Kingston 120gb SSD

the only thing a psu would really cause would either be a failure to turn on, random shut downs, or limited oc room. It wouldn't cause extremely poor framerates.

Could be bad luck with both cards, try a third card or borrow one to see if it performs up to par, if it doesn't, then you should look into other issues.

Do you think the G1 gaming would have bad luck though? All that hype about how they inspect the G1 cards in the factory for 'maximum performance'

Doesnt matter the brand or product, gpus are usually made in a factory and not handmade so its not confirmed to not be DOA at your door. It doesn't hurt to test a random card you or your friend might have, just to make sure.
