GTA V texture streaming issue, help needed.

Go to solution Solved by SXCS23,

I had a friend have this issue when we tried playing together launch day. He transferred the game to another drive and it worked fine. Ran some tests and found that he had a faulty SSD. It was reading slower than a HDD. If you are having oddly long load times, give that a try. Another fix I saw for this on YouTube was changing GTA V priority to High in task manager.

Noticed some hard frame drops and then the textures and objects stopped loading all together. This wasn't an issue before today and there haven't been any changes to my system or the game. Verified game cache rebooted several times. Don't want to have to reinstall do to bandwidth limits from my ISP. Any ideas?

Problem is that they're where they've always been. I've got them on high even though geforce experience keeps trying to crank everything up to very high.

I think the game is offloading most of the textures to your system ram or worse, your pagefile.

I think you might be on to something.

To me that random read (the second one on the left) seems low. If I had another hard drive to test it with that would be great but I can't offload enough stuff from my SSD to try it.

Yup, she's dying. Uncorrectable error count is up triggered a fail state. Looks like I'm in need of a new hard drive soon. 55713ee6dc.png
