Rig upgrade

Hey, I've been looking into buying a GTX 970 For my current rig as an upgrade, the higher I can push game quality while maintaining 60 FPS the better for me

The reason I'm here is because I don't know if the 970 is the most logical way to go. My current rig is as follows:

AMD FX 6300

16GB HyperX RAM

GTX 560 Ti

Crucial CT512 MX100 SSD

MSI 970 Gaming Motherboard

Some pretty ghetto water cooling brand

CPU Is clocked to 4.1 and stays at a steady 23 Deg c (If that changes much)

 

Is a 970 the wise choice here? I'd greatly appreciate any help! Thanks.

The FX6300 will probably bottleneck the 970 a bit, but you would still get a lot of performance out of the upgrade.

I'd recommend, if your budget allows it, to completly upgrade your system to an i5 and 1150 motherboard.

I completely forgot to mention my budget, I'm only looking at around £300. Should I get the 970 and then slowly migrate across to intel along the line?
