I've just finished ordering all my components for my new build and I got the Corsair H100i after reading reviews it's a decent watercooler for the price however reading up some more i've heard that it runs very loud? Has anyone experienced this? To be honest, i'm not all that bothered when it comes to my rig being quiet or not just as long as it keeps cool that's all that matters.

Kind Regards

You'll need a fan controller, and oh believe me when you think you don't mind a loud rig.. this is LOUD like a jet-engine, louder than a R9 290 Reference at like damn 100% fan speeds.

So my best bet would to replace the fans which come with it? I'll see what fans I can get ahead off. Hopefully Maplin will have a good selection instore. But compared to my current pc, I don't think it'll be anywhere near as loud. I've been looking at videos who use the H100i and seems to run quietly.

What CPU are you putting it on?  If you are putting it on an LGA1150 CPU, you should just return it.  It has a lot of mounting problems on LGA1150, as well as loud pump, loud fans, and buggy software.

If you want to keep the AIO, you will probably need this:

H100i Mounting Problem

H100i Washer Mod

H100i Mounting Orientation w/ Picture

If you do plan to return it, I highly recommend the Cooler Master Nepton 240M.  Its only $100-$110, has a nearly silent pump, two incredibly high end included fans that won't need to be replaced, and no buggy software or mounting issues.

Hello Alpha55,

You can control the fans via Corsair Link with fixed RPM or with different profiles to find the sweetspot between temperature and sound.

Best regards,

Corsair Johan

Hi Faceman,

This issue that some have is not for socket 1150, its because of some motherboards have thinner PCB than Intels specifications which makes it harder to install properly, but this is not a common problem.

Best regards,

Corsair Johan

This is an extremely common problem, especially with LGA1150 CPUs.  It is almost a daily occurrence where someone is complaining about their H100i in some form or another, most commonly the mounting issue.
