So the question is in the title really.

When I type on my laptop I seem to knock it and my cursor jumps to a random point of the screen and ruins what I am typing; is there any way to stop this? It is really annoying.

Thanks

There should be a way to disable the trackpad while you type. Either in Windows or the drivers.

most laptops will have a Fn+F key combo that will disable the trackpad. just try them out one by one if your not sure about the symbols on the F keys.

If you have a mouse plugged in then you can easily disable the trackpad while it is plugged in via Windows.  Otherwise there is a keyboard shortcut to do it that depends on the laptop manufacturer. A Google search should find it for you.
