I need to know what cpu would I get for my minecraft server. Budget is $450 for the cpu. The gpu will be a old gs 8400 and the hdd will be a 256gb Kingston hyperx. I also need a motherboard for it. I'm home hosting it. Also btw minecraft is mostly single threaded workload so I don't need something like 24 cores.

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

an i3 4160 would be plenty. Minecraft rarely if ever used more than 1 core so u should be looking for higher IPC and better clock speed over more cores. an i3 4160 would be great. get a hyper 212 evo and OC it a bit for extra performance
