Hi, I'm doing my first rig. It's not meant to be for playing though, its my little project.
I need some cheap GPU for HDMI since my GA-P35-DS3L kinda lacks any video output.
It has to has passive cooling too, because of the small form factor.
Options are:
NVIDIA GeForce 210 1GB DDR3 845 CZK => 33$ (New)

ATI Radeon HD 5450 1GB DDR3 939 CZK => 37$ (New)

NVIDIA GT 9600 512MB DDR3   899 CZK => 35$ (Used)

Cash is no problem here obviously :D I am poor student but 5 bucks wont kill me. Also, how can some models have both 1GB and 512MB versions? I'm talking about 210 and 5450. It's really confusing.
What would you suggest to buy? :) Thanks

Main rig: Q6600 OCd, GTX660Ti, 4GB DDR2 Corsair Dominator RAM, 1TB WD BLUE, CX500, Bitfenix Prodigy M

Laptop: Lenovo Z50-75, AMD APU :(

So you wont be doing any gaming? Because none of those gpus will really do much when it comes to gaming..

Edit: At least in 1080p. :P

Well, I was playing on ours 2600HD for a long time. It started to have problems with Borderlands and now I'm only on crappy laptop because I cant afford a new (my first) rig. Well I could, but the laptop is fairly new so I cant just buy new thing even when I have money.

I think it will only sit under my parent's TV in the living room with one HDD for us to stream movies, maybe as Steam stream-thing later on :)

Do my posts make sense? :D

Can't you go on ebay ?

You could get a GTX 550 or amd equivalent for that price .

That 9600 is from server like craigslist but shipping from different country would be kinda pricey I guess.

+ I need it to be passive since it cant exhaust anywhere in the case, at least I think it couldnt

Ok, I will probably go with 210 because I want to use 300w tfx and not that 400w ATX giant's. Or should I go bellow recommend wattage? 5450 wants at least 400w

So if I understand correctly, all you need is a cheap place to plug in an HDMI monitor, and gaming performance isn't a consideration? Just get the GT 210, if that's the case.

I would dig around , I got a 7850 for 28€; you could probably get a blower cooler card .

Also , passive still puts hot air into the case , especially since if you have no ventilation the passive card will overheat .

Recommend what is best, not what you preffer.

Yes, exactly. It will probably be the best option :) Thanks

. There will be ventilation. I'm planning on doing custom case but it will be really small space. Mobo lying flat and PSU on top of unused PCIe. This way would non-passive card blow just into the side of PSU. I will put some fans on the front and rear so there will be some airflow.
