I need the logo to be on top of the other picture without the image getting any bigger than 851x315 without any white bar around the logo.
(bad english sorry)

I would do it for you but don't have photoshop on my laptop. If you have photoshop or gimp or some picture editor, put the logo on top of the picture and export it in the huge file size. Then you can go into paint and resize it. You could probably also resize it in photoshop/gimp but I don't know the easiest way to do that.

I don't think the banner goes well with the squirrel + shield though (just my opinion take it don't take it it's totally up to you) ;)  But actually the logo looks shaper while the enlarged background looks quite pixelated..

 

And is the background needed? I mean, the shield is already showing the forest, why would you still need a photograph of a forest? It's like showing something that's it's already known/shown or just repeating something twice.

Well, I'm not sure what is this for and it totally depends on the context. Maybe this is for the banner for your profile on the forums or maybe Facebook.. Nothing is coming to mind at the moment but, all I'm trying to say is, is the background necessary? Could it work without the background?
