Does overclocking void warranty? If it does it wouldn't really make sense though, they pretty much encourage you to OC your cards..

Also does overclocking your CPU void the warranty as well?

No overclocking does not void your warranty.

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

I am sure why would intel sell specific over clock able processors.

Intel actually sell a separate overclocking warranty and only for a single replacement

https://click.intel.com/tuningplan/

"The standard 3 year warranty covers failures that occur while the processor is used within Intel’s published specifications. The Plan covers an eligible processor that fails due to overclocking."

The answer is - potentially, generally most cards come pre-overclocked like the MSI Twin Frozr, EVGA superclocked, Asus Strix etc so on and so forth

Overclocking further could potentially void warranty - NORMALLY they dont mind and will happily repair or replace cards under warranty - but there is some risk involved - its worth reading what the actual warranty for each cards says about overclocking - there is no single rule for them all

But now a days the chance that a cpu dies from being to far overclocked is highly unlikely due to thermal throttling.

Agreed but its still something to consider, as I say in my post above (added a bit more detail) standard warranty only covers products within manufacturer specifications - unless the warranty explicitly says, assume its not covered - however 90% of the time, nobody checks and its fine

That's only if people know what they're doing. If they decide to shoot it up with like 1.6V then it's going to fry either way.

You would have to be pretty stupid to ever do that but I see why they have it but if you followed an guide on how to over clock they would never do that.

Intel K series CPU are under warranty even if you fry your chip. if you want to have double chip warranty you have to pay $35(USD) more so if you fry your chip once they will replace and if you do it again they will replace again. after that you have to buy a new chip it will cost you $40-$60 for any chip of 3rd or 4th gen . i don' don't know about the policy for 5th gen now. i don't know about GPUs . but asus sent me replacement after i fired my 280x
