5930k is just slightly higher clocked with more PCI lanes, which are generally not useful unless you're doing 3+ way SLI.

I'd get the 5820k.

Really for 4-way SLI only. In 3-way you'd still have x8/x8/x8 which is fine.

They're not equal in terms of productivity performance from what I've seen in various benchmarks both overclocked and stock. The 30k beats the 20k out by a bit.
From what I can tell its slightly better than the 4960X whereas the 20k sits under it.

It might be worth considering what kind of storage you'll be using with it, if you're going with m.2 or NVME perhaps moar lanes would be a good thing.

"The wheel?" "No thanks, I'll walk, its more natural" - thus was the beginning of the doom of the Human race.
Cheese monger.

Just get the 5820k, overclock it some, and throw the rest of the saved money at an SSD.

Clock for clock the 5930k is faster, but only just. The 5820k is better "bang for buck"
