Hey guys, hoping you can help me.

Firstly, my PC has started taking around 3 mins to load the starting windows screen on windows 7 startup.

Secondly, sometimes I get random system crashes or restarts, without bluescreeens

Finally, I sometimes get bluescreens where it comes up with "collecting data for crash dump" and then either stays there, crashes or restarts.

Personally Im not sure about the PSU, but any other ideas greatly appreciated.

Any thoughts?

Since you are using two different kinds of RAM I suggest you try with only one of the pairs. MIxing and matching RAM is usually not a good idea.

Your PSU is more than powerfull enough to drive the system, but try and check if all of the internal power cables are securely in their place.

Is there any software I can use to stress test everything or do I need to run prime furmark and memtest seperately?

Thanks a lot

You can try and run Prime95 blend test and furmark to stress both RAM, CPU and GPU

Edit: But I would still recommend running MemTest, just to look for RAM instability

^this.try one stick at a time first.leave it for 2-3 pass. actually the longer the better if you have the time.change the cpu to stock clock before doing mem test. do you have any screenshots of the bluescreen?look for the BCCode on the internet. it might give you a clue of what could be the cause for the bluescreen.

Thanks, I will try testing the RAM, as for the CPU, i took the clock back down to stock, after first having the problem, it was only a modest overclock, and I don't think there was any overheating as I have a H50 and two SP 120 in push pull

sometimes, it's not just about the heat actually. it could be the voltage or power delivery setting to the cpu might also cause the bluescreen. try to grab a screenshot of the bluescreen code if you can. that's how i addressed my previous bluescreen problem which was cause by some Load Line Calibration setting.

So I have removed my crucial RAM, which seems to have pretty much solved the problem, (still some tests left to do.)

After removing it I thought I had another problem with slow operation, but realised I'd halved the RAM!

In terms of upgrading the ram again, should I go same speed, same make, same capacity? or can I mix up speeds and capacities? I will definitely stick with corsair RAM from now on in this system.

Thanks a lot

you should try get RAM with the same brand, speed matching as with your other pair of RAMs. you can mix the capacity you want but try get it in pack of pairs for compatibility.

for example now you have Corsair Vengeance 2*2 GB 1600 DDR3. so you can get the same Vengeance 1600mhz DDR3 RAM but in pairs like 2*2 or 2*4 or 2*8

I hope my explanation is clear. ;)
