Well, with an i7, GTX 1080, Full tower and flashy lights, it can obviously only be for one thing:

Solitaire.

285 wins benchmarks when it doesn't get capped in RAM, when it does the 280 gets ahead. 960 beats both and 280X beats the latter.

oh dammit guys ! 960 better or 285/280 .. dammit one says 285 and then another one says 960 FOR SURE ! soo what ?!! u guys gonna lead me to die soon

Well, I would say depending on the game the 285 280 and 960 are pretty much PAR, but since IN MY OPINION SPEAKING FROM A 0 NVIDIA/INTEL system NVIDIA has better features and power consumption that it's better, despite the abosolutly terrible RAM on it.

But the 280X is only like 10-20$ more than the 285 and crushes everything and I would pick that up over anything

BUT IF YOU NEED IT TO BE 200$, then I would get a 960.

Watch this and make your own decission. One is better for one game. But i would recommend to spend a little more and take 280x since it beats all of them.

even with that 128bit bus problem which causes shatters at AA on ?

Nope. This is 2015, we don't need a 384bit bus for our GPU's. Even the 4GB 960 utilizes all of its VRAM.

I would stick to either a R9 285 or GTX 960, as the R9 280 is the lesser performing of both. If you don't mind rebates, definitely go for the R9 280X, its a great deal for that price.

Remember when the R9 280 was the HD 7950? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
