I was wondering if anyone could pick out parts for a new pc :)

A silent yet powerful computer is what I'm aiming for. It doesn't have to reach absolute silence, but no jet engine either.

Color schemes isn't too important.
Budget: 2000$ I can stretch to 2500$
I have monitors, mouse and keyboard.

Explain your choice and if it is worth the money.

My current system is: | CPU: i7 2600 3.40GHz | RAM: 12GB Dual Channel DDR3 1600MHZ | Motherboard: CG8350 | Storage: 931GB Seagate+Samsung 850 EVO Series 250GB | GPU: GTX 970 Gaming | PSU: G2 750 | Monitors: 2x BenQ XL2411Z

I meant, you don't really need notifications for a thread you made.

Notifications are a lot easier than going to "my content" and thus loading a new page and thus a second hit to data caps when loading back into the thread that was replied. (at least in my opinion).

Reasons:

CPU: Quad core is plenty for most games out currently, and overclocking will just add costs for better coolers, more heat, etc.

Motherboard: The WS is one of 2 board in Z97 that has 4 x16 PCIe lanes, leaving you the option of tri or quad crossfire in the future (also SLI certified). This board is also a server grade component, allowing the use of more professional components should you want to in the future. (It is basically ROG without the ROG Pricetag).

Memory: It is the cheapest 16GB kit. More than 8GB is not "necessary" but the price is not much more than 8GB. Also, Speed and branding on RAM is not going to make more than a 1% difference in performance.

Storage: SSDs are nice to speed up a system, if you have the money (you do). Any brand is fine more or less, but Adata is one of the less expensive brands, and I hae 2 of these particular drives with no complaints.  The Hard drive will store plenty of games and other data, at a low price.

GPU: Highest Single Chip GPU on the AMD team right now. It gets outperformed by the 980 in most games, but not $150+ worth of outperformance. This asus model is the lowest priced in the 290x linup right now.

Case: Phanteks makes a great case from what I have herd. The case is just a pocket to hold the components, if it looks nice to you and fits everything, go for it.

PSU: Enough power to upgrade to 2 way Crossfire in the future, from a brand that generally uses a quality OEM iirc.

OS: You are not going to need VM software, or more than 128GB of RAM, so there is no reason to get Pro, and windows 8 is the current release.

If you are only gaming then an i5 is enough. The 'K' version allows you to overclock and it is only a few $$$ more than the locked version.

Coolermaster Hyper 212 will keep it cooler than the stock fan and be quieter.

EVGA psu is one of the best around.

Samsung SSD is a no brainer. Along with the likes of Crucial they are my go to brand.
