Title!

I'm planning on doing a small loop for my CPU.

I'm doing a RoG theme build for this one.

I've already chosen a waterblock (Swiftech APOGEE XL PPCS Custom ROG Edition), but everything else is just really confusing for me. I want to have a cylinder reservoir, and a so far am only planning a 240 RAD on the top.

I want to try to spend under $300 (CAD) so far. If it comes to light that I'm a complete idiot and it's a waste of money, I will probably add the GPU to the loop and the budget will slightly go up.

Here is my build so far...

Motherboard: Asus MAXIMUS VII HERO ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($249.00 @ Canada Computers)

Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory  ($180.98 @ Newegg Canada)

Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($143.94 @ shopRBC)

Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 980 4GB Twin Frozr Video Card  ($689.98 @ DirectCanada)

Case Fan: Corsair Air Series AF140 Quiet Edition 67.8 CFM 140mm  Fan  ($17.84 @ DirectCanada)

Other: CableMod E Series (Black/Red) ($82.63)

Other:  Swiftech APOGEE XL PPCS Custom ROG Edition (Purchased For $79.00)

Total: $2111.27

Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

The rule of thumb is to have at least one 120mm rad per component and one more for good measure. If it is your first watercooling loop I'd recommend maybe getting a kit with all the components you'll need, reservoir, tube etc. EK has great kits.

Or if you want to pick the parts yourself I'd recommend a Pump and reservoir combo, it's easier that way.  You'll also need to decide what size you'll want on the tubing and then match that size with the fittings needed. You need 2 fittings per component so if you have a CPU block + rad + pump/res combo you'll need 6 fittings.

Here's a link to an EK kit

Since you already seem to have picked a CPU block here's an example of what you could buy:

Pump&Reservoir combo, 140ml: http://www.ekwb.com/shop/reservoirs-and-acc/res-pump-combo/ek-d5/ek-xres-140-d5-vario-incl-pump.html132 euro

Radiator: http://www.ekwb.com/shop/radiators-fans-accessories/radiators/ek-coolstream-pe-240-dual.html66 euro

Tube: http://www.ekwb.com/shop/accessories/tubing/10-16mm-3-8-5-8-tubing/tube-primochill-primoflextm-advanced-lrttm-15-9-9-5mm-crystal-clear-retail-3m.html22 euro

Fittings: http://www.ekwb.com/shop/accessories/fittings/compression-fittings/for-10-16mm-3-8-5-8-tubing/ek-acf-fitting-10-16mm-black.html5 euro per fitting.

If you need more fans EK also has fans good for watercooling, (high preassure), I'd recommend the 1200 or 1500 rpm version for minimal noise. 15 euro per fan. http://www.ekwb.com/shop/radiators-fans-accessories/fans/120mm.html

If you tell me what case you have it would be easier to get the appropriate sizes etc =)

Hope this helped.
