Also before everyone says it. Go watch linustechtips videos on YT he does number of builds and its not as difficult as it sounds. You will be glad you build it yourself for less money than prebuild pc. If you know what case you want or you are uncertain about some parts of the pc you can always come back and ask. Hello! I've been using Macs to play games on for the past few years, as I've had parallels/boot camp or just waited for Mac port/version. How ever now I feel I would be better of investing I a Desktop PC since I would like to play more resourceful games in maxed out/ultra settings without lag, as I'm trying to use GTA V on Mac and its hell + other games I've played and they lag.

I'm not to sure on all the PC terminally or specs, and I know you can get pre built or custom made ones. I've been looking on curries PC world and have found this machine, it looks relatively okay and I was wondering if anyone would know if I could play games like GTA V maxed out settings etc?

http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/desktop-pcs/gaming-pcs/pc-specialist-vortex-cyclone-gaming-pc-10023466-pdt.html#cat-0

Thanks for reading! :)

As stated by bydus, that is a lot of money for the parts you are getting (an i5 and a mid low/mid range card should be closer to 500 pounds).

The cpu wont limit you too much in games, however that card wont be able to handle most less demanding games on ultra, let alone GTA 5 (my 780 ti is more than twice a good as that card, and I probably wont be able to max all the bells and whistles without dipping below 60 fps). also notice how the fps on the graph they give you looks pretty good, but that is on medium settings.

To get decent value, I suggest you pick out parts yourself, and build something with something like an i5, and a 280x or a gtx 960/gtx 970 for the gpu. That will be a good place to start if you are wanting to run games at their higher detail settings without lag(and of course Linus has made many videos on pc builds, and im sure one of those is somewhere near your budget)

Wouldn't say its terrible but your better off investing your money in the GTX 900 series Video Cards (960/970/980) 8GB of ram is a good amount you don't want any less and more is pretty much overkill for gaming.

As for the CPU its lists a different cpu in the Product Details Section (i5-4590) And the Overview section to the right its says (i5-4570) so not sure about that, but either way a i5-4690 would be a bit better if its in your price range.

Thats terrible and way overpriced (and 750 is not a good card), you could build it yourself and get top of the line 970 and play gta 5 max at 1080p silky smooth 60fps. Also get i5-4690 (k version) as you will be able to overclock it if you need more power.

Thank you everyone! I'm still considering building my own, who are good companies that build them for you? I don't want to spend over £800 :) I would rather have a computer that is not overpriced and low spec, where I can spend the money for better specs etc.

Thanks, I'm thinking about getting a custom built, with 8gb ram, gtx 900 series and i5 4590. Will this allow me to play GTA V and other games maxed out settings? Does the mother board matter which one I get?

Yes a 970 or 980 will be able to max out most games a 960 might not run on max settings but still at very high. Look for a good brand motherboard(Asus/Gigabyte/MSI) Basically the more money you spend on a motherboard the more features it will have eg. More USB/Sata ports or more PCI-E slots. so just look for one that suits your needs. If your going to be overclocking you need to get a motherboard with a Z chip set. (eg. Gigabyte Z97X)  :)

Most of these computer chains, like PC World and whatever, they try to dump older or less desirable parts in their ready made systems. The motherboard in this system for example, does not seem like a good choice in 2015. Right now, you'll probably make a better choice with a 9-series, so that you'll at least have the option of upgrading to a Broadwell CPU in the future. The VRM also does not look very impressive. Only 4 SATA ports, where only 2 are SATA3.0.

It's much better to build a system yourself.

And although it is a matter of taste of course, I have to say that I think that must be one of the ugliest cases I have seen in a long time. No offense intended towards those who like it though. As I said, it's a matter of taste. :)

Thanks for this, is there any differences between nividia and amd cards? I'm guessing these specs could max out to ultra GTA V settings and other games?

I generally like cases that don't look like they are pretending to belong on the set of Star Wars :D

But seriously, I prefer something a bit minimalistic, without too much "going on". Clean surfaces. And not too industrial looking.
