Need help on upgrading my pc

Go to solution Solved by Megazero,

Current Build: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Sn0wBreeze/saved/PYxPxr

CPU: i5-3330

CPU Cooler: stock

MoBo: Asus P8Z77-V

RAM: 8gb

Storage: 500gb

GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 1GB

PSU: Cougar 500W ATX

OS: Windows 7

My friends told me to get these for the upgrade: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Sn0wBreeze/saved/js248d

But as far as i know, i7 ain`t efficient for gamming and idk a lot about graphic cards, so any help will be welcome.

Nah... you dont need an i7. i5 is ok. the GPU upgrade seem fair though

For 1 GTX 970, you wont need a PSU upgrade either

First and formost, what's your upgrade budget? And an i7 is waay overkill for gaming. Stick with your i5 or upgrade it to a 4690k. I recommend a 128-256gb sdd as it will load up your computer faster as well as games. And I don't think a power supply upgrade is neccesary at the moment, however, base that off of your own judgement and research.

 junker build in the making

I would disagree the i7 is an excellent part. the upcoming witcher 3 and MK X both recommend an i7 3770k.

No you dont, but if you upgrade to a i5 4690k you will need a different motherboard. So like I said, just keep your CPU/mobo for now
