Will Project Spartan only be available for Windows 10 or will you be able to download it for 8.1, too?

Looking at it so far, it seems like it will be a Windows 10 only thing, but it would be nice if they had it for download, but then it would make it harder to market Windows 10 for that feature.

And kinda like what you mentioned: It's a good marketing strategy for them to offer it only on W10 since they would be able to pull more people into updating by only offering with W10. If they let W7/8 users download it they probably wouldn't be able to get as many people over to W10 as fast.

I assume it will be a Windows 10 only browser due to the extension of WinRT. It's being built to pretty much to replace IE in Windows 10 with a new browser wiping the slate clean of any past IE criticism. Plus it's built on WinRT which in itself is a big advantage over what IE could offer even if it was an excellent browser. Not only that but it will run the same across all devices Phone, Tablet, PC just like all the rest of the new Universal Applications.

While not confirmed, it looks like a W10 exclusive (at least for some time, that's for sure.)
