Hello everyone I'm new to this forums and seeking some help on the next following topic ,now let me apologize if I'm posting this @ the wrong forums please forgive me with that been said let's start shall we

I have some questions regarding on what CPU to get that can work with my current set up  so I really want to replace my CPU (currently using i7 2600k @ 3.4 ghz) I know it's pretty old

I have between $300-$400 to spend on a new CPU what can I get that can run on my current mobo...using a gigabyte z68ma-dh2-b3 ) and the reason I wanna upgrade my CPU it's because I think it bottlenecks with my GPUs ( SLI gtx 970 ftw) Well I hope someone can give me a little help on what could  be my best choice Thanks in advance !

8GB of RAM is more than enough for 95% of the games. Honestly, I wouldn't bother with buying a new CPU - If I were you I would overclock the 2600k. It has an unlocked multiplier, so it should be really easy. Might fix your bottleneck, if it is happening anyway.
