Q6600 & 7870

I was just wondering if I would get a bottleneck with this cpu and gpu together, but if I overclocked the q6600 to 3.2ghz.

 

would that be fine for gaming? the only game I'm mainly going to play is CSGO (counter strike). Maybe some other games.

It will be fine  There will be a very small bottleneck

@wra2000 I'm not one for looks, so most of the games I'll be playing are on low settings with everything turned off. Ok thanks man.

It will be fine even with details cranked up a bit

Q6600 @3.2GHz will be good enough for casual gaming and easy-to-run titles like CS:GO yes

Well they only ran Dirt 3 and Tomb raider as far as games go. Dirt 3 is pretty old and tomb raider runs on basically any CPU well enough:

 

Either way like I say it's fine for easy to run "mainstream" games like CS:GO, LoL without becoming a horrible CPU bottleneck but when it comes to heavy titles like BF4 it will show its age.

It will bottleneck, but not too much. You should be fine. If you have the cpu already that is, don't buy a new one.

that should be a nice match if you upgrade the gpu in the future a new cpu would be in order though.
