Hi guys!

I'm planning a moderate budget build ($650 - $750), which I would require for multiple work, specifically gaming, web development, image development, and using AfterEffects. One extra requirement which I have is a printer cum scanner, which means somewhere around $700 would be ideal.

Processor: AMD FX 6300 (Some people have asked me to look into hyperthreading in i7 processors or i5 processors, but so far this is quite convincing)

Motherboard: Please recommend something with an AM3+ socket and USB 3.0 (preferably)

RAM: 8GB sounds like a good amount these days (I'm planning to go for a Corsair Vengeance (CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10) (8x1 stick))

GPU: A small and good budget option would be a GTX 750 Ti from Gigabyte. Please recommend anything you find better.

Cabinet: Cooler Master Elite 311

I'm only selling a few parts (Processor etc. from my old PC). I'm not looking for a Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse or an OS (I already have a CD).

However:

PSU: I have some random 450W PSU now, which I may be able to use. A Corsair VS550 (550W) sound like a feasible option though.

Optical Drive: I have an LG GH24NSC0 right now, which I can use, and wouldn't sell. Another cheap option would be an LG GH24NS95 (about $16).

HDD: I have a Samsung Spinpoint 500GB, which I may not sell. A Seagate Barracuda 500GB sound fine though. (WDs at that price are only Caviar Greens)

SSD: I don't have one, but could certainly get a 64GB Kingston.

Also, please mention a suitable printer (if you can).

Thank you. This is India. Some parts you list may not be available here. Please give some which you might think would be easy to find.

I'd get a 600W power supply at minimum. Your cutting it close as is/you have very little room for expansion.

hmmm... what i've compiled is completely different, and I'd like that somebody point out the major differences in my build and this one. How would this rig be better? an i3 sounds like bottlenecking that radeon gpu. I'm currently on a dual core AMD Athlon x64 processor, and it seems just so terribly slow. Plus running more than four-five apps at once is like beating the crap out of this old pc. a quad or hexa core would be preferable - thus the fx 6300 as my choice.

The i3 doesn't bottleneck a 280x no.

I can afford an FX 6300, so why not? I also have this feeling that i3 is gonna be left behind like windows xp or something (in a while)

I've seen builds with 450W psu and it doesn't seem like a bad option. The corsair i've mentioned, though, should be good to go

That's nice. Its still a little on the low side regardless.
