Youtube being a slouch

Go to solution Solved by mikeeginger,

Try stopping then restarting your anti virus also try disabling some chrome extensions see if this helps

Youtube on has been a real pain lately. I can no longer watch videos at my usual setting without having to get constant bufferings.

My download speeds are at max though.

I've tried clearing the cache and it helped...only for about a minute until the buffering kicks in again.

I've tried using Firefox but its the same story.

I thought my ISP was shaping traffic so I tried the Glasnost test but it said that the data was too noisy to be able to determine if there was any traffic shaping.

On rare instances though, it would all be fine.

I've tried using a VPN (hotspot shield free) and it did not help at all, in fact it just got a whole lot slower.

This is driving me nuts.

Switch youtube servers?

How? Is it the country selector at the bottom of the page?

The only extension I am running is AdBlock +.

The problem is back again even with Avast turned off. Now I'm pissed again.

Any ideas?
