$500-$600 AMD gaming pc for a friend

MrJBravo

My friend asked me to build him a gaming PC for around $500 but no more than $600 (not including windows, pricing pc itself, already has a monitor, keyboard and mouse,).  He wants to be able to record his games while he plays, and wants to remain at 60 fps at 1080p.

As for games he doesn't play too many intensive games, he plays League of Legends, Heros of the Storm, Skyrim and Dragon Age. He would like to play more AAA titles but his laptop cannot run them at his playable framerate (60 fps)

He is looking to start up a gamming youtube channel, but on his laptop using any screen recording software drops his fps to 30 and below.

His only requirement is that he wants an AMD GPU,

I have scrolled through pcpartpicker and came up with a couple of builds using AMD processors, however, I am not confident in them as I no little to nothing at all about AMD CPUs.

Please help!

Why does he want AMD so much?

He's clearly fallen victim to AMDs slick marketing tricks

id go for a 8320E or a 8350, id go for a used gpu. can get more bang for the buck if hes okay with that.

for this price point its okay. for 100 bucks less, and faster then a I5 in rendering? if something is half the cost and still even in the same league, then it should be considered a option. a serious option

Does he have any old parts?  DDR3 RAM, hard drive, etc... things that can be re-used.

Lol hes had a lot of laptops, and his current one running an AMD graphics was his best one by far. So he just trusts AMD more. but if you can build with an NVidia card I will throw it his way, price is more important

This will probably be the best you will get for the price. The Intel has 4 cores but it is a bit stronger than the 8 cores of some AMD CPUs. i can do an AMD CPU based build if you would like?

That motherboard is horrid.

In no way will you be able to oc.

@kdmb13 I should elaborate.  The FX 8XXX CPUS require a hefty VRM to deal with the power.

Whatever he does he should wait until prices plummet when the new AMD cards come out and he should also get Intel processer for upgradability reasons! :)

<p>Wish I could have this already!! : http://pcpartpicker.com/p/qTLRjX

That motherboard is horrid.  It might not even run the FX 8320, and in no way will you be able to oc... if it works at all.

Yeah well OP shouldn't even go with an AMD CPU build if he is considering it.

So I have shown my friend this thread, and he said he is really liking this build. he may ditch the SSD to upgrade the motherboard, but overall he said he is liking the sound of this build alot.

Thanks to all who posted a build, I love how quickly I got these responses.

Thanks again everyone!
