Which would be better

Go to solution Solved by gazabi,

I'm on a debate between which graphic card(s) to go with. My build currently is an ASUS crosshair v formula-z motherboard with an AMD FX8350 Vishera, 16GB (2x8) G.Skill Trident DDR3 2400Mhz Ram.

Which would be better the cost difference is roughly 10 dollars and is irrelevant.

Running 2 MSI R9 280 gaming cards in a crossfire configuration, Or running 1 MSI R9 290X gaming card with opportunity to add another in the future

Thanks in advance,

Sig

the one 290x since the price will go down in the future and you can get another one and it will be able to keep up with next gen graphics for a while.

R9 290X, but I think it's wise to wait R9 390X. But if you just can't wait then R9 290X is better, even better when than 2x 280 when put in crossfire.

Any idea when the 300 series releases?

I'm not sure yet, but it's said that it's going to be released this year.

Do you believe it will bottleneck the one card or bottleneck if I use 2 290x in crossfire later?

It will bottleneck 1 290x slightly. It will get worse if you have 2 290x.
