I recently built a pc for a friend of mine and after handing if over to him he told me he needed wifi on it. So I mentions that Cisco makes use wifi adapters. He went and purchased one but after plugging it in an error message comes up that says "USB Device Not Recognized". I have been sitting here on his floor for around an hour and I'm out of ideas. Can anyone help me out here?

The USB adapter is an AE2500 from linksys

Well here's a few stuff to try.

-Make sure it's a USB 2.0 port you plugging into. (compatibility issues)

-Drivers are installed for it.

-Try all ports till one works.

I think that's a good starting point.

While you're at it. Here is some more stuff you can try.

To check if the adapter it's self is working properly:

Issues with drivers:

Hopefully this helps out a bit as well. Good luck bud.
