Okay, so I've downloaded the 60gb portion of GTA yesterday, and then I had this thing where it said "retry" and it started downloading from the 20gb mark to something like 55gb. So it was already late at night so I turned off my monitor and let it download overnight. To my surprise this morning I checked and I saw that i didnt download anything. It was at the same 24gb mark I left it at before I went to bed. So frustrated I closed the window, and tried to reopen it. This led to a "loading" thing which never let me download again. So I tried my best to resume it but I couldn't. I figured my best option would be to uninstall the whole 60gb download and restart over. Now I'm downloading the 60gb game at 50-100 kbps... when I usually have 1.5 - 1.9 mbps. Do any of you know what is causing this?

Rockstar's willingly pushing it back so both steam and regular buyers can start playing in the same time.

Are you downloading in Steam?

I am downloading it from Rockstar themselves, the download has just spiked back to my normal download speed, but do you know what that "second" download or "retry" was all about? I'm just asking to see if other people who downloaded GTA have had this experience

Maybe Rockstar's servers are overwhelmed. I downloaded through Steam and it went smoothly without any problems.

I don't always have time to study, but when I do, I don't.

Haha, great quote you have there in your signature section, fellow.

@OP I wouldn't really make a big deal out of it. Just wait 3 more days and it'll automatically get fixed!

This was probably your issue, but you already uninstalled, so. :/

Anyways, just hang in there, I finished my pre-load from Rockstar this morning.

So yours went smoothly? How will I know if its a duplicate?

x64t.rpf 1.79GB,

x64l.rpf 1.79GB

One has a t and one has a l .. Or do I just look at the file size?? I didnt really get what the guy meant when he meant duplicates and used those two examples

You're going to want to take a look at the size of your folder that you're downloading to. Mine wasn't smooth at all, but I figured it out somehow.

If all else fails, redownload the setup tool and try again.

I ordered it at a Dutch toy store.

It's coming tuesday.

Fuck, I sold my soul... so yeah the physical copy

Don't feel ashamed, us, the 90's vintage kids are mostly going for the physical copy. We'll soon be the generation to be called "the-stuck-in-the-90's-or-something".

I would've gone for a physical copy if I weren't at university with its business class internet. :P

Can anyone spot the problem...?

That's very odd. You might want to submit that to Rockstar Support.

You're better off getting stuck by lightning than receiving help from R* support.

It took me 6 months to get anywhere with them and then they said they couldn't help :\

I figured they might've beefed it up for the launch. Worth a shot.
