I'm looking into getting into PC gaming more and I was looking around and I came across this. It seems to have all good specs but I'm just not sure if I'm missing something here. I don't plan on overclocking and i'm mostly just going to be gaming and hopefully streaming if possible. I would like your guys opinions on how well it will run current games and how upgradeable it is. Any help is appreciated, thank you.

Your build is pretty decent, if you're not going to overclock, then change the cpu to an i5 4460 and save some bucks :D

Also add an SSD, either a Samsung 850EVO or a Crucial MX100/200.

Anyways Welcome to LTT and enjoy your stay. (we do not bite :P )

Just a Techie Girl!

Would the dual channel ram make a difference? Also, I did forget to add SSD. I'll fit that in, also, I'm switching the PowerColor 290 to a different brand, seeing as it has god awful reviews. Will the 4460 still meet todays standards?

Yes, it won't bottleneck any GPU except maybe a titan X, but i would suggest this if you are cheaping out.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4440 3.1GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($173.95 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: MSI H81M-P33 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($43.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Total: $217.94
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Is the xeon worth it? Isn't the main draw to those more cores, and most games can't utilize that many cores?

I would say it is and it's cheaper than an i5 4690/k. Of course you could go with a cheaper i5 but for what your getting I think the Xeon is definitely worth considering.

I think this is basically what I've decided on. Including OS, monitor, and peripherals it comes in just under 1500. Anybody have any decent suggestions for a desk that fits in a small 26 inch width area. I can take some pictures of my room if that size measurement isn't sufficient. That's the only part of the build I'm worried about, I don't really know what to do about a desk.
