Need help on improving air flow in my case

EpicDerpFace

My GPU seems to be running on high temps during gaming and idle, the lowest temp I had was 50c and the highest 89. I have a GTX 970 ,I know that 89 is safe for this card but I just wanna make it below the 80's for safer precautions. My case is a bitfenix neos, I have a HDD and a ssd installed ,1 exhaust fan at the back and 1 fan installed at the front. These fans came pre-installed, the highest RPM for both of these fans are 1200. Any tips provided will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Well, that was a quick reply anyways should I install 2 static pressure fans at the front? Since I have a HDD there and a ssd.

Static pressure fans aren't worth it unless used in a water cooled environment.

You can mount two 120mm fans in the front of this case so you should definitely add one more, especially with the cages blocking some airflow. You should look at high airflow fans.
Try to remove the SSD cage and mount the SSD in the HDD cage (or you can do a fast mod by fixing it with velcro/double sided tape on the top of the HDD cage).

You should get something like four decent fans, two intakes in front/bottom and two exhausts on back/top to move fresh air in and hot air out as fast and efficient as it's possible. Remove unneeded parts from case, like redundant hdd cages or wires, it's all about air flowing in and out of your case :)

I am sorry for my english.

I have the same card and installing 2 Silverstone AP121s in the front as intake made a considerable difference. The AP121 works great for me and was in my proce range but really the point is anything with high SP and channeled flow, the Noctua NF-F12, AP123, phobya nb-eloop, I think any of those would do the trick, and also, add all the fans you can, specially if your card doesnt have a blower style cooler (I have a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 Overclocked) since the heat stays in the case and its more important to have good airflow.

Thanks for all the replies, my case only allows two fans at the front one at the back and does not support extra dual fans at the top. I have placed my ssd in the same cage as my hdd so currently I have an empty cage above, and 2 empty optical drive slots. Is there a way I could remove these without much of a hassel? Thanks.

By looking at screenshots, it seems the middle cage is riveted in, so you will have to take off that rivets.
You will still have one of the two panels of the cage in front of the top-front fan. You can either cut it nicely with a dremel tool if you have one or leave it it like that if you choose the adequate fan!

I have never mod a case before in my life or having any of the required tools, should I just get a new case? Corsair carbide spec 3 and add some air flow fans at the front as intake and some at the top as exhaust.

Well, I don't know your budget, but the S340 from NZXT is a killer for the price!
You can re-use the fans of your actual case to mount in the front of the S340 and you're ready to go!

Or you can buy two new fans for your actual case (some really good fans have been suggested by @tomas710).
