5.25" Drive bay uses

Go to solution Solved by xeromynd,

Personally, I hate these, but here's a storage box:

I have an unused drive bay in my case and I want some creative solutions of things to do with it. I don't need a hot swap bay or a multifunction panel. I was thinking along the lines of a media control bay or just a tray/drawer for odds and ends. I have no idea where I can get either of those things an I'd like to know where I can find them. Along with some other ideas for the drive bay.

Thanks

- David

I don't want a hot swap bay, all of my hard drives will be staying put until I upgrade

I am not talking about hot swap bay, you can buy adapters that let you put the HDD inside of the case, but you doesn't have to take out the 5.25 cover on the front.

My modded Air 540 build

I am not a big fan of 5.25", CD's / DVD's are imo becoming obselete faster than I personally thought.

In my current P182 I have a 2x 5.25" Fan bay with an 80mm DELTA fan (loud as hell), which is why with the other Sanyo Denki's I got a fan controller in another one of the 5.25" bays.

In the final top one, I has a little fan thing to cool the SSD I have (well, it's still going after 7 years, so :)) - Something like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/EverCool-EC-HK-3F-BK-Hard-Disk-Drive-5-25-inch-Bay-3-Fan-Case-HDD-Cooler-Black-/400534677688

I wouldn't want a fan pointing downward just because it'll be blocked, but the ones facing inwards are very cool, I haven't seen those before. As for the tray I'm thinking that it wouldn't be necessary but it would be very practical and I could hide away some thumb drives, wiring, twist ties, sticky notes, etc and that would be nice considering that the drive bay may just be left empty. So I'm just looking for something nice that will occupy that space and be practical.

A drawer/storage or a sentury 3 fan controller if you have a need. I have it and its good. It needs the temp sensor so dont damage it when installing.

Just because you don't care, doesn't mean other others don't. Don't be a self-centered asshole. -Thank You a PSA from the people who do not say random shit on the internet.
