P.S. Id like to apologize for my grammar in this post, Ive been cramming for midterms and havent slept in a day or two

I have an H1000i from Corsair, the same version, and it's absolutely great. The thing will be super quiet under no load, and has a good standing of lasting a long time.

This is about PSUs - not branding. But if we were to just go off by company, Delta (the company that made the HCP Platinum) is more renowned in making high-quality, reliable PSU than Channel Well Technology (CWT - the ones that made the HXi).

Anyways, the Antec HCP 750 Platinum will offer better build quality and electrical performance than the HX750i.

On the other hand, the HX750i does offer some feature set from Corsair Link that some people may value (ability to switch between single and multi-rail (MR by default - with OCP set at 40A per cable), monitor power input / output, efficiency, and fan speed, and PSU temperature), as well as support for the pre-made individually sleeved cables. It also a very well build unit that has a VERY relax fan profile for those sensitive to noise. For $109.99 after MIR, it isn't a terrible deal.

And the one with the corsair logo, no matter who made it, still looks better imo, thats why I never bought an xfx or seasonic. The marginally better performance at full load isn't worth the appearance for my purposes

While the logo can be redesign to your liking if you so wish, aesthetics is subjective, so I wasn't discussing that. Your original question was "Is this a reliable power supply?". Since reliability was a concern, the HCP-750 Platinum was mentioned as an possible alternative. When you had said "I've never been an antec fan", I was making sure you didn't dismissed it just because it was an "Antec", as it is indeed offer better build quality, performance, and is made by a server-grade company - thus making it more reliable.

Of course, like I have said, if you like the feature set and the aesthetics of the HX750i, then by all means get it. As I had implied / said, it is a reliable PSU and "For $109.99 after MIR, it isn't a terrible deal."

I see, I'd misunderstood what you were saying. And to clarify I wasn't saying that antec doesn't make quality products, I just don't like them. Just like Toyota, they're reliable, just not a car I'd like to drive. As for reliability I just don't want to buy a potato. I'd like to apologize if my initial reply seemed a bit aggressive, I didn't intend for it to have a bite
